Carolina Panthers receiver, Steve Smith suited up and played in the preseason game just two weeks after hurting his shoulder. He showed no ill effects of the injury.
NFG - Smith is ine of the top receivers in Fantasy Football once again and you can now feel safe drafting him.

Carolina Panthers receiver, Steve Smith is practicing but is held out of contract drills. It sounds as if they are being cautious with him but he will be ready to go by week-1.

The injury to Carolina Panther's receiver, Steve Smith does not look as serious as it first appeared. His arm is in a sling and they are not saying what it is, but they are saying his shoulder is not broken and he may be ready to go by the first regular season game.
NFG - Which means he may not be ready as well. Unless they come out and say that he is definitely playing in the first week, draft him with the idea he might miss a week or two. Then if he does play, it will be a bonus.
