Why NFL Fantasy Guide?

WE ARE SORRY: Due to the overwhelming time it takes to keep up with Fantasy Stats, I am no longer creating up to date draft lists and such on this blog.

However, I would like to remind you that the articles are for the most part still good advice to keep to heart when playing Fantasy Football.

Minnesota Vikings Fantasy Players

Quarterback - Brett Favre - (Position Rank - 25)
(Passing) 3,300 Yards, 18 TD, 18 IT, 25 Sacks
(Rushing) 50 Yards, 0 TD, 3 Fumbles
I am sure all of the Favre lovers will hate me for this ranking, but the truth is the truth. He no longer has the arm strength to make some of the passes he used to and now they end up intercepted. Favre has always made bad decisions, but he has always had the arm and the luck to make those decisions work. At least enough that people didn't call him out on them. Now those decisions hurt him. Not to mention he does not have the receivers he had in Green Bay.

Running Back - Adrian Peterson - (Position Rank - 4)
(Rushing) 1,600 Yards, 11 TD, 4 Fumbles
(Receiving) 20 Catches, 180 Yards, 1 TD
Now, Minnesota fans in general will hate me. Everyone and their brothers are picking Peterson as the #1 overall running back. I looked and I looked and I just could not see why. Sure, he had 1700 yards last season. Yes he is exciting and can break one on any given carry. Those two things do not make a #1 running back. If he got another 300+ yards in receiving, then we may be talking. Peterson does not get enough receiving yards and he does tend to lose the football at times. There are a few other running backs who will have more touchdowns and a lot more receiving yards to make up the difference in rushing yards.

Wide Receiver - Bernard Berrian - (Position Rank - 19)
(Receiving) 55 Catches, 1000 Yards, 7 TD, 1 Fumble
Berrian is a burner who will go and get the long ones. Minnesota brings in a 90 year old quarterback with a bum shoulder to throw him the ball. I just dont see it working.

Wide Receiver - Bobby Wade - (Position Rank - 64)
(Receiving) 55 Catches, 650 Yards, 3 TD, 0 Fumbles
Wade is an average receiver at best and not worth considering in your draft until late.

Tight End - Visanthe Shiancoe - (Position Rank - 16)
(Receiving) 35 Catches, 500 Yards, 5 TD, 0 Fumbles
Good ability but Favre is a downfield passer.
