Why NFL Fantasy Guide?

WE ARE SORRY: Due to the overwhelming time it takes to keep up with Fantasy Stats, I am no longer creating up to date draft lists and such on this blog.

However, I would like to remind you that the articles are for the most part still good advice to keep to heart when playing Fantasy Football.

Questions

Often in the preseason, there are questions about players. Injuries, position battles and anything that might effect the Fantasy Football Player Rankings. Here I will address some of them.

Miami Dolphins Fantasy Players

Quarterback - Chad Pennington - (Position Rank - 11)
(Passing) 3,600 Yards, 20 TD, 10 IT, 25 Sacks
(Rushing) 60 Yards, 1 TD, 4 Fumbles
It is not so much that Pennington is a bad quarterback. He just doesn't have a very strong arm to spread the field. Without a strong arm, a quarterback can only get so many yards.

Running Back - Ronnie Brown - (Position Rank - 18)
(Rushing) 1,150 Yards, 9 TD, 1 Fumbles
(Receiving) 35 Catches, 300 Yards, 0 TD
Brown has all the ability to be ranked much higher than the #18 running back. The problem is Penningtons lack of arm strength. It causes defenses to play in more giving Brown less room to run.

Wide Receiver - Ted Ginn Jr. - (Position Rank - 44)
(Receiving) 70 Catches, 900 Yards, 4 TD, 1 Fumble
When a teams best receiver is ranked 44th in his position, it means trouble. I could also lay this at the feet of Penningtons weak arm because he cannot get the ball to Ginn Jr. down field enough. Whatever the reason, he is not worth drafting til late mid rounds.

Wide Receiver - Greg Camarillo - (Position Rank - 59)
(Receiving) 65 Catches, 750 Yards, 4 TD, 0 Fumbles
When all of the receivers have short routes, there isn't enough room to separate them. Thus they end up with similar stats.

Tight End - Owen Daniels - (Position Rank - 15)
(Receiving) 35 Catches, 450 Yards, 6 TD, 0 Fumbles
And again, if everyone has short routes, there just isn't enough room to get open a lot. A tight end needs deep passes to open his shorter routes. Miami cannot offer that benefit.
