Why NFL Fantasy Guide?

WE ARE SORRY: Due to the overwhelming time it takes to keep up with Fantasy Stats, I am no longer creating up to date draft lists and such on this blog.

However, I would like to remind you that the articles are for the most part still good advice to keep to heart when playing Fantasy Football.

NFL Fantasy Guide
Questions

Often in the preseason, there are questions about players. Injuries, position battles and anything that might effect the Fantasy Football Player Rankings. Here I will address some of them.

Houston Texans Fantasy Players

Quarterback - Matt Schaub - (Position Rank - 24)
(Passing) 3,300 Yards, 17 TD, 11 IT, 20 Sacks
(Rushing) 55 Yards, 1 TD, 8 Fumbles
I still dont know why so many rank Schaub so high. If you take his 2008 numbers, he would have good stats for a full 16 game season, but he still would not have great numbers and so far he has yet to put in a full 12 games as a starter.

Running Back - Steve Slaton - (Position Rank - 6)
(Rushing) 1,340 Yards, 10 TD, 2 Fumbles
(Receiving) 55 Catches, 400 Yards, 1 TD
Slaton was moving up my rankings until rumor started coming out that Chris Brown might be looked to for short yardage touchdowns. Brown's presense hurts him a little but not as much as one thinks since Brown is so injury prone.

Wide Receiver - Andre Johnson - (Position Rank - 4)
(Receiving) 105 Catches, 1,400 Yards, 8 TD, 1 Fumble
Johnson has become one of the premiere receivers in the NFL and many believe he may be the top receiver in fantasy football this season. My only knock on the guy is that he gets single digits in touchdowns. Considering so few get ten or more, this is not a big knock at all.

Wide Receiver - Kevin Walter - (Position Rank - 30)
(Receiving) 63 Catches, 880 Yards, 6 TD, 0 Fumbles
For two seasons in a row, Walter has had 60 to 65 receptions for 800 to 900 yards. His TD's went up to 8 last year compared to the 4 the year before. I give him near the same in yardage and right in the middle for touchdowns.

Tight End - Owen Daniels - (Position Rank - 8)
(Receiving) 70 Catches, 850 Yards, 3 TD, 1 Fumbles
Is he an elite Tight End? Nope. Is he better than average? Yup. It is really that simple with Daniels. Not an elite but better than others.
