Why NFL Fantasy Guide?

WE ARE SORRY: Due to the overwhelming time it takes to keep up with Fantasy Stats, I am no longer creating up to date draft lists and such on this blog.

However, I would like to remind you that the articles are for the most part still good advice to keep to heart when playing Fantasy Football.

St. Louis Rams Fantasy Players

Quarterback - Marc Bulger - (Position Rank - 27)
(Passing) 2,800 Yards, 12 TD, 14 IT, 38 Sacks
(Rushing) 40 Yards, 0 TD, 3 Fumbles
Okay, I will be the first to admit, I do not know what happened to Bulger. I thought it was an injury, but I find he played in 15 games in 2008 and still had horrid numbers. I thought maybe it was bad offensive line play and found he was sacked less last year. If someone knows what happened, please leave a comment or e-mail me. For now I have to go with what he has recently shown and that is not much.

Running Back - Steve Jackson - (Position Rank - 9)

(Rushing) 1,250 Yards, 10 TD, 3 Fumbles
(Receiving) 45 Catches, 450 Yards, 1 TD
If only Jackson was on a better team. He is big, he runs well and he catches well. He also faces 8 man fronts consistently.

Wide Receiver - Donnie Avery - (Position Rank - 38)
(Receiving) 70 Catches, 850 Yards, 6 TD, 0 Fumbles
Avery is a decent receiver but nothing great. Yet, someone has to catch Bulger's passes dont they? Avery will be the biggest recipient and thus helps his rank in my Players Rankings a little.

Wide Receiver - Keenan Burton - (Position Rank - 73)
(Receiving) 45 Catches, 550 Yards, 3 TD, 0 Fumbles
The Rams passing game is not strong enough to make Burton worth drafting in Fantasy Football.

Donnie Avery (WR) - 08/25/2009

Donnie Avery returned to practice with the scout team and caught two touchdown passes. According to sources, he looked quick and ran well.

NFG - Originally Avery was expected to miss up to 4 weeks. After just a little more than two weeks, he is looking healthy. All expectations are that he will play in the Rams first regular season game.

Donnie Avery (WR) - 08/10/2009

Wide receiver, Donnie Avery, of the St.Louis Rams has a fractured foot and will be out 4 to 6 weeks. The injury might cause him to miss the first two weeks of the regular season.

NFG - A decent receiver on a bad team. Drop him a bit in your fantasy players rankings and draft him a couple of rounds later than you planned on. If someone else takes him, let them keep him on their bench.

7/22/2009

Ronald Curry (WR) - 07/22/2009

The St.Louis Rams traded Defensive Tackle, Orien Harris to the Detroit Lions to get Wide Receiver, Ronald Curry in return.

NFG - This could be a good thing for Curry. THe Lions were beginning to get a log jam of receivers and there was a good chance Curry was not going to start over Bryant Johnson and Dennis Northcutt. The St.Louis Rams have virtually no veteran receivers outside of Donnie Avery and this move will give Curry a good chance to fight for a starting job.
