Why NFL Fantasy Guide?

WE ARE SORRY: Due to the overwhelming time it takes to keep up with Fantasy Stats, I am no longer creating up to date draft lists and such on this blog.

However, I would like to remind you that the articles are for the most part still good advice to keep to heart when playing Fantasy Football.

San Diego Chargers Fantasy Players

Quarterback - Phillip Rivers - (Position Rank - 5)
(Passing) 3,700 Yards, 27 TD, 13 IT, 24 Sacks
(Rushing) 60 Yards, 0 TD, 5 Fumbles
Last year, Rivers finally stepped up and became a top fantasy quarterback. That was with Tomlinson and Gates fighting injuries. Now he has both of them healthy. Though this should help him out, the fact that Tomlinson is healthy may also take a few chances away from Rivers. I think the two counters each other and he should come close to duplicating 2008 though it would not surprise me to see him do a little better.

Running Back - LaDanian Tomlinson - (Position Rank - 1)

(Rushing) 1,300 Yards, 12 TD, 1 Fumbles
(Receiving) 50 Catches, 440 Yards, 2 TD
What was considered to be a bad year for Tonlinson in 2008 was still a great year for mosr runningbacks. Tomlison is healthy this year. Dont pay attention to the remarks that he is now 30 years old. Tomlinson has only played 8 seasons and there is no reason not to think he wont bounce back. .... Put it this way. ..... If Tomlinson has another bad year, he is still a top ten RB. If he does bounce back, he is easily the #1 fantasy running back in football.

Running Back - Darren Sproles - (Position Rank - 42)
(Rushing) NA
(Receiving) NA
Draft Sproles late as a handcuff to Tomlinson, but dont expect too much out of him unless Tomlinson goes down. Many think that Sproles might take some carries away from Tomlinson but even the coach is saying it isnt so.

Wide Receiver - Vincent Jackson - (Position Rank - 24)
(Receiving) 60 Catches, 1,010 Yards, 6 TD, 1 Fumbles
With both Gates and Tomlinson hampered in 2008, Jackson showed Rivers he could be trusted. This year Rivers should look for Jackson still and he will find him open a bit more because Gates and Tomlinson are healthier and will take more defensive attention.

Wide Receiver - Chris Chambers - (Position Rank - 62)
(Receiving) 50 Catches, 590 Yards, 5 TD, 0 Fumbles
Chambers is talented enough to be ranked much higher. The problem is he is the 4th target in the passing game for Rivers who will look for Vincent Jackson, Tomlinson and Gates before him.

Tight End - Antonio Gates - (Position Rank - 1)
(Receiving) 70 Catches, 900 Yards, 8 TD, 0 Fumbles
Fighting a nagging injury in 2008 that kept Gates from jumping or cutting well, the tight end still had 700 yards receiving and 8 touchdowns. The fact that he is healthy now and so is Tomlinson to make defenses worry more, Gates should bounce back to his old self.

Antonio Gates (TE) - 08/03/2009

San Diego Chargers Tight End, Antonio Gates was running and cutting in practice better than he has in recent years. Antonio Gates seems to be completely healthy. The small nagging injuries, in particular the toe injury hew suffered in 2007 that hindered him all of last year is no longer a problem.

NFG - With Gates and Tomlinson both feeling healthy this season, expect them to feed off of each other. The better Tomlinson plays the more open Gates will be. The better gates plays the more space he will give Tomlinson to run. Both will open the deep game for the receivers.

LaDainian Tomlinson (RB) - 7/27/2009

San Diego Chargers coach Norv Turner says he does not see any problem with LT's past injuries and expects the running back to be one of the top three or four rushers in the league this year.

NFG - If Tomlinson is in fact one of the top three or four rushers in the NFL this year, after you add his receiving numbers in he very well could be the top fantasy player. A fact I have been saying this season that no other fantasy site I have personally seen has done. In our Ultimate Player Rankings where we compare the rankings of several experts, one site has Tomlinson as low as 19th overall. Do not be fooled by the other sites. LT is still one of the best runners in the game and as long as he is healthy he will put up better overall numbers than Adrian Peterson will.
